Black Dyke set for early Devil appearance

English National champion set to show off their Devilish intentions with their open rehearsal.

The reigning English National champion, Black Dyke Band will be previewing their performance on 'Devil and the Deep Blue Sea' at an open rehearsal at Morley Town Hall.

The rehearsal will start at 8.00pm on Friday 2nd March and, where as well as the open rehearsal and a full run through the test piece, MD, Dr Nicholas Childs will present a short concert programme with the band.

Admission is free and doors open at 7.30pm

Gala Concert

Meanwhile, the band has announced its programme for the forthcoming Gala Concert at the Great Northern Spring Brass Arts Festival which takes place at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on Sunday 13th May.

Olympic

With the 2012 Olympics getting ever close there will be opportunity to hear ‘Pure Gold A 4 x 4 Relay’ by Luke Carver Goss, which brings together the combined forces of Black Dyke, the Manchester Chorale and off stage band.

Also included will be music by Paul Lovatt Cooper, with his ‘When Thunder Calls’, Dan Price’s, ‘Black Dyke Spooktacular’, Joseph Cook’s solo feature, ‘Largo Al Factotum’ and Respighi’s ‘Pines of Rome’.
