Foden's congratulate Williams

The Foden's Band has been paying tribute to its passionate euphonium star Glyn Williams.

Following the announcement that Glyn Williams has won the 'Brass Band World Solo CD of the Year 2011' Foden’s has taken the opportunity to congratulate their euphonium star on his latest achievement.

Principal cornet Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "Everyone at Fodens would like to congratulate Glyn on winning this prestigious award, especially due to the quality of the opposition that he was up against."

He added: "Glyn is very passionate about Foden’s Band — hence the title of the CD, 'The Lure of the Red Jacket', and that passion is shown by his amazing 17 years of service as our principal euphonium. We were also delighted that 'Dreaming of the Masters' featuring Jens Lindemann and the band was announced as runner up."

Mark went on to thank the contribution of Composer in Residence Andy Scott for his contributions on the CD, as well as that of the players and MD Mike Fowles.
