The Burry Port Band has announced a series of new signings ahead of their hometown contest in October.
Signings
Neil Smith returns to take the ‘bumper up’ seat, with his son Chris joining on solo euphonium, whilst Keith Curtis returns on solo horn. Richard Davies has joined to strengthen the cornet section and Graham Roberts come in on trombone.
Excited
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are very excited about welcoming the players to the band after the summer break and we are looking forward to working with them on our future concert and contest programmes."
Home contest
The band will be hosting the West Wales Brass Band Association contest on 8th October at the Memorial Hall, Burry Port.
This bi-annual contest, which forms part of the growing Welsh League contest series will see over 35 competing bands battle for glory from 10.00am onwards, with the addition this year of new Junior Ensemble and Youth Band sections.

We are particularly excited about the addition of the Youth Band and Junior Ensemble sections, and would welcome everyone to come along and support some of the best young brass players in South Wales competing in Burry Port at this contest for the very first time."
