Skelmersdale Prize Band has announced the arrival of no less than seven new players.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Helen Melling (sop), Ted Griffiths (solo cornet), Heather Walton (solo cornet), Laura Marsh (repiano cornet) and Tom Williams (2nd horn) are all talented young musicians with heaps of enthusiasm and great attitudes."

They added: "We also welcome Andrew Silman on solo trombone who has been a regular guest for several months and Andrew Maguire on EEb bass after a short break from banding.
