The organisers of the 2011 Bolsover Festival of Brass have released further details of the 2-day event that takes place on the weekend of the 10th/11th September.
Six contests
The draws have been made for each of the six competitions, with the special Charity Entertainment Contest sure to bring in a host of brass band lovers to the Kissingate Leisure Centre in Shirebrook for the 4.00pm start on Saturday, where the all girl Boobs & Brass pit their talents against four ‘Re-union’ Bands in the shape of Ransome, Rhodian, Jones & Crossland and William Davis.
Leading events
The Festival is now recognised as one of the leading events in the UK and this year has attracted a further 31 bands to provide adjudicators Colin Hardy and Alan Morrison with plenty of food for thought in their 20-minute entertainment programmes on the Sunday.
Based in two halls at Mount St Mary’s College at Spinkhill, the day will kick off with the Unregistered Section at 10.00am, followed by the Fourth, Third, Second, First and Championship, which will round off a packed day as Newstead Brass seek to retain the title they won in such thrilling fashion last year.
The Festival is now recognised as one of the leading events in the UK4BR
