The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain has announced an ‘Open Day’ invitation this Wednesday to all young brass players during the current Summer course held at Repton School in Derby.
Open Day
The day offers an opportunity to experience an insight into the band and how it is run for the benefit of some of Britain’s finest young brass and percussion players.
All children who attend the open day shall receive a complimentary ticket to attend this year’s concerts at the Albert Hall, Nottingham on Friday 29th July starting at 7.30pm, or at Victoria Hall, Stoke on Trent on Saturday 30th July, also starting at 7.30pm.
Inspire
A spokesperson told 4BR: "If your sons, daughters or young musicians have any friends who would also like to attend the Open day please feel free to invite them along, even if they are ‘non’ musicians who we could perhaps help inspire to start playing."
Parents, bandmasters and teachers are also welcome throughout the day.
The spokesperson added: "We appreciate and value your support as we all know this is vital in the development and encouragement of our young musicians."

Concerts
The National Youth Band concludes their course with spectacular concerts on Friday 29th July at the Albert Hall, Nottingham and Saturday 30th July at Victoria Hall, Stoke on Trent. Both concerts start at 7.30pm.
The concerts will be directed by Allan Withington and will feature baritone soloist Katrina Marzella performing Martin Ellerby’s ‘Baritone Concerto’.
The programme will include Eric Ball’s transcription of Elgar’s ‘Enigma Variations’ and the innovative ‘Edward meets Edvard at an Exhibition’.
