After a highly successful two year period, 4BR has been informed that Steven Walsh has made the difficult decision to depart from the position of principal euphonium with the National Champion.
Thanks
Steve told 4BR: "I would like to thank everyone at Brighouse for an enjoyable period of banding.
"I jumped at the chance to work with Professor David King again when asked to help out at the 2009 British Open Championships. I was then invited to join on a permanent basis after winning the Best Soloist Award."
Looking forward
He added: "I would publicly like to thank my friend and mentor Professor David King for his continued support and development with my playing."
As for the future, he concluded: "I’m now going to enjoy the summer with my family, and look forward to a busy period of teaching with the Rochdale music service, and also my continued work as a Development Artist with Yamaha."
Brighouse President Paul Beaumont told 4BR: "We thank Steve for his contribution to the success of the band during his tenure and wish him every success in the future."
