National Youth ready for action

The talented members of the National Youth and National Children's Bands are getting ready for their courses in Derby this year.

NYBBGB

Some of Britain’s finest young brass and percussion players from across the UK are to spend the next fortnight in Derby rehearsing, performing and staying at a Derby School.

Youth and Children

The 80-strong National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will be at Repton School from the 23rd July to 30th July, whilst the 56-strong National Children’s Brass Band will be at the school from the 1st to the 6th August.

Finest musicians

Administrator Philip Biggs told 4BR: "We are looking forward to our time in Derby and across the region. Both bands feature some of the leading finest young musicians of their generation. With former members of both bands going onto become the who’s who of the brass and orchestral world, I would recommend a visit to one of the band’s forthcoming concerts."

We also have a number of free tickets for the National Youth Brass Band concert in Nottingham. These tickets are specifically available for youngsters learning to play, in youth bands, school bands or music centresPhilip Biggs

Free tickets

He added: "We also have a number of free tickets for the National Youth Brass Band concert in Nottingham. These tickets are specifically available for youngsters learning to play, in youth bands, school bands or music centres."

Both courses will culminate in three major concerts in Nottingham, Stoke-On-Trent and Derby.
