The West of England Bandsman’s Festival in Bugle, first held in 1912, has announced its test pieces for the iconic open-air contest, which takes place this year on Saturday June 18th.
Huge crowds
The contest attracts huge crowds thanks to its mix of its traditional march through the village streets of the competing bands, as well as the chance to relax (if the weather is fine) and listen to a host of bands perform on the specially built bandstand.
Royal Trophy
The Championship Section Bands will all be aiming to win The Royal Trophy, presented to the Festival in 1913 by the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall.
As always there will be a magnificent array of trophies to be won in the six sections, including thirteen solos awards, and prize money totalling over £4,500. The adjudicator is William Relton.
