Composer Luke Carver Goss stated: "Black Dyke’s sound and virtuosity conjures images of power, athleticism and dexterity. Emotionally, the band can also convey feelings of nostalgia, sadness and loss. Additionally, for a composer to write for the myriad of timbres that brass bands offer is a huge opportunity."
