The St. Dennis Band recently made the long trip home from the Pontins in Prestatyn after claiming second place and prize money of £1,500 in the Harry and Margaret Mortimer Championship Section Contest.

Directed by guest conductor Darren Hawken and off the dreaded number 1 draw the band produced a fine performance of 'Les Preludes' that was only beaten by Marsden Silver for the £3,000 top prize.
The band’s young cornet player James Dowrick picked up the ‘Youngest Player’ Award on what was his first away trip first trip away with the Senior Band.
