Conductor and motorcycle enthusiast Jonathan Corry has raised more than £2,500 for two charities by recently driving a classic 1955 NSU Quickly moped from John O'Groats to Land's End and stopping off to conduct brass bands on the way!!
Busy summer
Jonathan, currently Bandmaster of Enfield Citadel Band is no stranger to brass bands and has enjoyed a busy summer including five days as rehearsal conductor on 'Brahms Requiem' and Samuel Barber's 'Prayers for Kierkegaard' for the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and National Youth Choir in Limerick.
As well as bandrooms, his journey also took in Brands Hatch and the Ace Cafe, London, where Manchester City football star and Harley Davidson owner, Shaun Wright-Phillips took time to chat4BR
Enjoyed
He thoroughly enjoyed travelling through the UK on what was essentially a 'pimped up' bicycle, stopping off to direct a total of eight bands, including a training band of one of his former contesting bands at Tullis Russell Mills.
As well as bandrooms, his journey also took in Brands Hatch and the Ace Cafe, London, where Manchester City football star and Harley Davidson owner, Shaun Wright-Phillips took time to chat.
Land's End
Jonathan completed his journey at St Keverne in Cornwall where a concert was organised by the band in aid of the SA Chikinkata mission charity, 'Action Africa' and 'Riders for Health' featuring Jonathan's close friend Les Neish.
