Brighouse & Rastrick has announced the addition of two young players to their bass section.

Rising star

Rising tuba star Ben Dixon joins on Eb bass ahead of his move to Manchester to study at Salford University in September.

Ben has been a key asset to Carlton Main from the age of 14, for the most part as principal, and has been regarded as one of the banding movements most promising young performers.

Ben stated that he would like to say a special thanks to Carlton Main, particularly Ray Sykes, for his time and lasting memories of the Band.

Meanwhile, Jonny Shaw comes in on Bb bass. the 21 year old has played with Besses, Faireys and Flowers as well as completing a music degree at Birmingham Conservatoire

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Brighouse is proud to be able to attract quality young players like Ben and Jonny. Newly promoted solo Eb bass, Mick Morris looks forward to developing both players further in their musical careers."
