Leeds leads banding in the park

Over 90 concerts, including many from brass bands, will appear in park bandstands all over Leeds this Summer.

 

The 2010 series of 'Summer Bands' in Leeds Parks commenced over the recent Bank Holiday weekend.

Resound

From now until the end of September, the bandstands of the city will resound to music of local brass bands and junior ensembles in parks.

Parks involved include Golden Acre, Canal Gardens — Roundhay, Pudsey, Dartmouth (Morley), Middleton, Temple Newsam, Horsforth, Wetherby and Westroyd (Farsley).

This year's programme includes over 90 concerts across 20 parks featuring the region’s brass, jazz, folk, blues and concert bands.

Most concerts are on Sundays from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and are absolutely free.

No matter where you live in Leeds there will be a concert nearby this summer. So dig out your picnic rugs and sunhats for a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
