The South Yorkshire Police Band recently performed in an exciting collaboration with Rotherham Choral Society.
A brass group and percussion section comprising members of the band were excited to perform with the choir in two ambitious items which made up the concert.
Armed Man
John Rutter's challenging 'Gloria' opened the concert, but it was Karl Jenkins' descriptive and evocative "Armed Man" that proved the highlight of the evening for musicians and audience alike.

Real quality
Simon Davies from the band told 4BR: "The band members were joined by an organist, pianist, flautist and cellist and the packed Eastwood Mission were treated to a performance of real quality."
Simon added: "The band, and conductor Leigh Baker were honoured to take part and despite the extra rehearsal time needed in amongst the band's normal concert schedule it was an experience that the South Yorkshire Police band enjoyed considerably."
