4BR has been informed that Fairey (Geneva) Band has committed itself to play at the English National Championships in Preston in June.
Rumours
Rumours had circulated that the band had pulled out, but Band Manager Ian Howarth told 4BR today, that these were not true. "Fairey is fully committed to taking part at the English Nationals," he said.
It’s a great piece, and Russell has a pretty good record on it. We are in pretty good shape for all the important contests to come this yearBand Manager Ian Howarth
Work
He added: "We did have to discuss the situation due to MD Phil Chalk’s increased work schedule. Phil’s work takes him all over the world at short notice, and at present he is exceptionally busy. We have therefore teamed up with Russell Gray for the contest and for both the British Open and National Finals."
Ian says the band is now looking forward to the challenge of ‘Eden’.
