Black Dyke's principal percussionist, Lee Skipsey has taken over as the new conductor of City of Bradford Band, which was previously YBS Concert Brass.
Response
Lee, who started his playing days as a cornet player in the Salvation Army has only been at the helm a few weeks but is already delighted at the response he has had from the players.
He told 4BR: "We only had 14 players to begin with, but with lots of hard work, calls to former players, some of which have taken a break, we now have a full band. I'm really excited by the challenge ahead. The band will be registered in the Third Section and we plan to be competing again on the contest stage.".
