The Wessex Band Summer School has announced the appointment of Michael Fowles as its new Musical Director.
Love
A spokesperson told 4BR: "In looking for a successor to Derek Broadbent we were looking for a musical leader with drive, determination, a proven record of working with musicians of all ages and abilities and someone with a genuine love for both brass and wind bands. Michael was the obvious choice."
Michael has a long association with the Wessex Band Summer School, first attending the course in 1986 as a trombonist, before being appointed a tutor, then a conductor, before his most recent appointment.
