The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain is currently working hard under the direction of Dr Nicholas Childs at Taunton School for its twin concert series at the conclusion of this year's Easter course.
Concerts
The concerts will be held on Friday 9th April at The Octagon in Yeovil and Saturday 10th April at Cheltenham Town Hall — both at 7.30pm and featuring guest soloist David Childs.

Demanding programme
The programme will include demanding works such as 'Vienna Nights' by Philip Wilby and 'An Age of Kings' by Edward Gregson as well lighter items such as James Macmillan's 'Stomp'. The band also accompany David Childs in the first UK brass band performance of the Karl Jenkins 'Euphonium Concerto', which he recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York
The band is led this year by James Fountain, the current principal cornet with the Virtuosi GUS Band, whilst there are no less than 25 new members in the 79 strong line up.
