After a hectic year, tuba star Les Neish has been enjoying his hat trick celebration.

Tuba star Les Neish has been celebrating after capping off a fantastic 2009 by scooping no less than three awards for his debut release 'Salt of the Earth'.

Hectic year

It has been a hectic year for Les which has seen him playing in many countries all over the world, starting off in the Cayman Islands in January and finishing up in Tuscany at the house of pop star 'Sting' working on a track for his album 'If on a Winter’s Night'.

Great reviews

'Salt of the Earth' has received great reviews and the great success of the CD has been marked with Solo CD Awards from 4barsrest, British Bandsman and Brass Band World.

Great music

Les told 4BR: "It really has been a great year for me with some unbelievable experiences and highlights. It was a pleasure to record the CD with Foden's and my friend Martyn Parkes. It also helps to record great music and Peter Meechan and Andy Scott certainly provided that."

Les added: "I've received so many positive messages and comments about the CD and I am delighted to have scooped the hat-trick of awards!"
