BBC Young Musicians announced

The five brass category finalist for the BBC Young Musician Competition have been announced.

 

The five young musicians who have made it through to the Brass Category Final of the 2010 BBC Young Musician Competition have been announced.

Auditions

The auditions took place just before Christmas in the Parry Rooms of the Royal College of Music in London, and were adjudicated by euphonium star David Childs, conductor Gareth Jones and French horn player Rob Harris of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Talented

The five talented players who will perform in the Category Final at the BBC Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff Bay on Sunday 7th February are the trio of French horn players, Alex Hamilton, Finlay Bain and Anna Douglass, trumpet player Sam Moffit and trombonist Tom Berry.

Wednesday 10th February: Woodwind

Friday 12th February: Semi-Final — the 5 category winners compete for 3 places in the Final, which takes place on 16th May.
