The death has been announced of Steve Platten.

4BR has been informed of the death of Steve Platten after a determined fight against cancer.

His funeral will be on Monday 9th November at St Michael's Church East Ardsley near Wakefield at 11.00am.

Victoria Pascoe told 4BR: "Steve will be remembered in the music he loved and anybody wishing to play should contact me on 07857572282. Everyone who knew Steve is welcome to come, but please don't send flowers, instead we would welcome donations payable to S. Rodwell for a local cancer charity."
