The 9th Annual Borders Entertainment Contest will make its first visit to Peebles on Saturday 31st November, when eighteen bands battle for the Scottish Borders Trophy.
The Scottish Borders Brass Band Association is organising the event, which will be held in the Leckie Memorial Church, Eastgate, Peebles, commencing at 9.30am.
Many local bands have entered and will be joined at the contest by others from across Scotland and the north of England4BR

Each band will play a 15 minute concert programme to try and impress the judges Richard Evans and John Boax. Meanwhile, retired Procurator Fiscal, Fergus Brown, will assess the entertainment value of the performances.
The contest is confined to First, Second, Third and Fourth Section bands and there will be plenty of ensemble and individual awards to be won.
Youth Section
Five bands will take part in the Youth Section.
Abbey Brass (Jedforest), St. Ronan’s Future Band, Langholm Junior Band, Selkirk Juniors and Peebles Junior Band will all take part and be given Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards aimed at encouraging the development of these young players. The section will be adjudicated by Scott Barker.
