Many local bands have entered and will be joined at the contest by others from across Scotland and the north of England4BR

English rivals

Many local bands have entered and will be joined at the contest by others from across Scotland and the north of England.

Each band will play a 15 minute concert programme to try and impress the judges Richard Evans and John Boax. Meanwhile, retired Procurator Fiscal, Fergus Brown, will assess the entertainment value of the performances.

The contest is confined to First, Second, Third and Fourth Section bands and there will be plenty of ensemble and individual awards to be won.

Youth Section

Five bands will take part in the Youth Section.

Abbey Brass (Jedforest), St. Ronan’s Future Band, Langholm Junior Band, Selkirk Juniors and Peebles Junior Band will all take part and be given Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards aimed at encouraging the development of these young players. The section will be adjudicated by Scott Barker.
