Fife Youth: Next Generation, brass and percussion youth bands, are looking forward to a busy time in the coming months.
Inspirational work
After inspirational work with James Gourlay and David Thornton in June, the pupils from up and down Fife, gained invaluable experience.
Their next workshop will be on Sunday 20th September in Cardenden where they will work with James Chamberlain, Mark Boyd, Charlie Farren and Julie Parkin.
This will be the first time for the development band and this will be an exciting time for the pupils, some of whom will be performing with their own bands as well as the regional bandAlison Hall
Ability
In addition, concert performances by both the development and senior bands of the FY:NG, covering all levels of ability, will be two weeks later as part of the proceedings at the Fife Charities Band Association Contest to be held in the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy on Saturday 3rd October.
They are planning a varied and entertaining programme for October but this will also help to take them forward to later in the year where the bands are entered into the Scottish Open Youth Contest in Perth.
Exciting time
Secretary Alison Hall told 4BR: "This will be the first time for the development band and this will be an exciting time for the pupils, some of whom will be performing with their own bands as well as the regional band."
However, it will be the second time for the senior band where they hope to improve on their first ever contest performance result of Gold Award and Runners-up in the Senior section of this contest in 2008.
