New Brass Festival announced

Philip Biggs to promote a Great Northern Spring Brass Arts Festival next year in Manchester.

Bridgewater Hall

Philip Biggs has announced that a new major brass band festival is to be launched in May 2010.

'The Great Northern Spring Brass Arts Festival', will take place on Sunday May 9th at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and will compliment the now firmly established Great Northern Brass Arts Festival.

Structure

The structure of the day will be similar to the September event, with three daytime concerts which will start at 12noon, 2.15pm and 4.15pm, and a Gala Evening Concert commencing at 7.15pm.

The bands featured will be Wingates, Leyland, Fairey, Cory and Fodens.

I have been persuaded to give the people of Manchester and the North West a second major brass festival in this magnificent hall and thereby doing what Belle Vue did so well for so many yearsPhilip Biggs

Philip commented to 4BR: "The success of the Great Northern has been fantastic, with the event growing in stature each year.

I have been persuaded to give the people of Manchester and the North West a second major brass festival in this magnificent hall and thereby doing what Belle Vue did so well for so many years — promoting a major September and May event."

Tickets for The Great Northern Spring Arts Brass Festival will be on sale at The Bridgewater Hall Box Office this Saturday.
