Entry forms for Gloucester

The forthcoming Gloucestershire contest can be entered online!

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association has announced that entry forms for their Own Choice March and Test Piece Contest are now available on their new look website.

Date and Time

The contest will take place on Sunday the 22nd of November, at The Forest Theatre, Five Acres, Coleford with Philip Harper booked to adjudicate and David Hayward as compere.

Sections

Once again there will be a section for Un-registered, Youth and Training Bands in an effort to give the opportunity for younger players to take part and encourage their future development.

The contest will take place on Sunday the 22nd of November, at The Forest Theatre, Five Acres, Coleford4BR

The closing date for entries is the 18th of September.

Executive changes

Following their recent AGM changes have taken place on the association’s executive committee, with Mike James continuing as Chairman and Rob Folland as Vice Chairman.

David Harding moves from being Vice Chairman to take over from Bill Poulton as Secretary, whilst Mike James, David Harding and Bill Poulton will continue to represent the GBBA on the West of England Council of Brass Band Associations.

The association has engaged Hugh James from Drena Designs to design, manage and develop their new website.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The GBBA would like to thank Bill Poulton for all the hard work he has put into running the two GBBA contests over many years."

Harlow Brass Band

February 27 • We are a friendly, non-contesting band who have the following vacancies:. Trombones, 2nd Horn, Back Row Cornets, Percussion. . We rehearse every Thursday in Harlow, 8-10pm and play at local events throughout the year.


Newmarket Town Band

February 27 • Newmarket Town Band is inviting applications for the post of 'Musical Director'. We are a non-contesting band who play to a high standard with regular bookings throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30pm


Banks Brass Band

February 25 • It's not too late to join Banks Brass Band, a friendly non-contesting band near Southport. All players welcome particularly euphoniums, trombones and basses. Rehearsals: Mondays 8.00-9.30pm in the Hub@Banks community centre, PR9 8BL
