The Princeton Brass Quartet comprising Dan and Heather Berz (cornets); Arthur Henry (horn) and Dr. Stephen Allen (euphonium) recently gave the world premiere of the original version of Rodney Newton's 'Three Places in Old England'.
First performance
The performance took place on Monday July 20th at the first Rutgers University Band Camp in New Jersey.
Rodney graciously dedicated the piece to Steve and his Euphonium Studio at Rutgers, who gave the first performance of the work in Rodney's 2009 version for euphonium quartet in the Spring of this year.

Treat
The euphonium/tuba students at the band camp have been working on this version throughout this week, so it was a treat for them to also hear it in it's original version.
The quartet also gave a performance of Gilbert Vinter's 'Elegy and Rondo' in honour of the composer's centenary year.
