Results: Silkstone March & Hymn

A great day out in Silkstone as Skelmanthorpe take the top honours.

Skelmanthopre

A great day was had by all at the Silkstone contest where adjudicators Alan Morrison and Colin Hardy sat in judgement on the 11 bands that competed at the two venues.

Skelmanthorpe

In the end it was Skelmanthorpe who took away the two £200 top prizes at the Red Lion and Silkstone Lodge with their performances of the march 'The President'.

The band also picked up another £40 for their hymn tune 'St Francis' as well as individual awards for basses and solo cornet.

It turned out to be a most enjoyable contest well run and well attended, with thanks going to Tracey Bostwick for her help throughout the day.
