June will see the inaugural Red Dog Big Brass Bash, which will take place at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Kent.
Contest
The festival will include an ongoing brass band entertainments competition with bands being drawn from all over the Southern Area, the formation of Kent Youth Brass Band, along with a wide variety of free workshops and master classes given by organisations such as the British Trombone Society and principal members of the current European Brass Champions The Cory Band.
Young Composers
The festival will also incorporate a Young Composers Competition, which will focus on developing the composition and arrangement skills of young brass players.
There is a strong emphasis on Youth development throughout the day, along with many opportunities for students to take part in practical activities and performances.
Kent Youth Brass Band will draw students from all over Kent to meet as part of the festival, spend time rehearsing as a full band and in sectionals under the expert tuition of The Cory Band.

Thousands
This will lead to a performance in the early evening before a potential audience of thousands. All participating musicians will also have free access to the rest of the event, including the chance to take part in all of the varied workshops and activities.
Performance bookings are already filling up quickly, with a series of mini concerts being given alongside the main competitions. A substantial prize fund has been made available, so get your band registered and involved while there is still space!
