The funeral details for Evie Dunger have been announced

The funeral details for Evie Dunger, the talented flugel player of Kibworth Band, who tragically passed away aged just 28, have been announced.

Evie was a member of the Midlands Area band for the past eight years where she made a huge impression not only with her playing but also with her personality and warmth of friendship.

Her loss at such a young age has been deeply felt by family, friends and those who knew her within the brass banding movement.

Tributes

Evie was the beloved partner of Brendan Caddy, Kibworth Band's Musical Director, sharing together a passion for music that resonated beyond the rehearsal room.

Tributes described her vibrant, outgoing personality, laughter, energy and dedication to whatever she turned her hand to.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Our thoughts continue to be with Evie's parents, grandparents, and brother, who have all been firm supporters of the band over the years, as well as to Brendan, who has lost not only a friend but his beloved partner. Their strength during this difficult time is met with the deep sympathies of the entire brass band community."

Honour memory

They stated: "As the band and community come to terms with this heart-breaking loss, we will honour Evie's memory by celebrating the joy she brought through her music. Her legacy will live on in the melodies she played and the hearts she touched."

Funeral

The funeral will be held on Tuesday 24th June at 10.15am at the Heart of England Crematorium, Nuneaton (CV11 6WZ).

An online tribute page where people can share memories, light candles and contribute messages has been created.
