Crowther heads for Brighouse

Brighouse & Rastrick has announced that Shaun Crowther has joined the band on solo Eb tuba.

The move follows the departure, due to ioncreased work commitments of David Hebb, who spent over 10 years with the band. A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band wish him well and offer sincere thanks for his years of exemplary playing and commitment."

Shaun Crowther was solo tuba with the Williams Fairey Band for 25 years, during which time he also played for a variety of professional ensembles, such as the Halle Orchestra and the orchestra of Opera North.

Mature

He studied as a mature student at the RNCM, graduating with a BA in 2001. He teaches tuba at the University of Huddersfield and also for Hull Music Service, in addition to coaching the National Youth Wind Orchestra.

His contest debut will be at the English Nationals contest at Preston on Saturday 27th June.
