Whitburn appoint Allen to conducting role

The experienced Bryan Allen has become the new Associate Conductor of Whitburn Band.

  Whitburn will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2020.

Whitburn Band has announced the appointment of Bryan Allen as their new Associate Conductor.

Bryan will work with the Scottish Open champion on various projects in the second half of this year and into 2020 when the band celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Experience

The celebrated trumpeter, conductor, educator and adjudicator brings immense experience to the role and continues to work regularly with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Scottish Opera as a performer and conductor.

As a clinician and examiner he works at leading Conservatoires and academic institutions, and he also adjudicates for numerous national and international competitions.

Services

He was awarded the British Bandsman Award for services to brass in 1995 for his Directorship of Brass Explosion Festivals in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and in 2011 became the first ever Fellow of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Sherborne Town Band

April 24 • Exciting opertunity for a principal cornet player to lead our friendly band. We also would be excited to hear from percussionists with experience in tuned percussion and kit. We are currently in the Championship section and have a busy schedule in 2024.


CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 24 • We have lots of cornets and horns but a little thin in the bottom end. Our players are happy to move around to help new players join the band, if you play baritone, euph or bass please give us a try. We rehearse every Sunday and Thursday at 7.30pm

April 23 • MERESIDE BRASS (Rudheath,Northwich) are looking for a FRONT ROW CORNET & a 2nd EUPH to complete our line up. We are a friendly 4th Section band with a sensible calendar of jobs and band social events and enjoy occasional contests. Come and give us a try!
