Ramsay departs Barrhead

After three succesful years at Barrhead Burgh, Martyn Ramsay has decided to move on.

Martyn Ramsay has informed 4BR that he has decided to end his association with the Barrhead Burgh Band in Scotland.

Disappointment

Martyn told 4BR: "After spending more than three years conducting Barrhead Burgh Band, over half of which as Musical Director, it is with great disappointment that I have decided to leave the position and look for a new challenge."

During that time we have taken the band further than it has ever been before and have been involved in some genuinely innovative projectsMartyn Ramsay

Innovative

Martyn added: "During that time we have taken the band further than it has ever been before and have been involved in some genuinely innovative projects such as the World Tour concert last October.

"However since the unexpected setback at the Regional Championships in March it became clear that, in order to re-build quickly, the band needed a different style and direction. I wish to publicly thank the band for their excellent support and wish them all the very best in the future."
