Trombonist Stephen Sykes has just performed the world premier of 'T-Boned', written for unaccompanied trombone by Piotr Szewczyk.

Premiere

'T-Boned' was submitted for the British Trombone Society's 'Composers Competition' in 2008 and had it’s first performance at the weekend at the BTS day in Leeds as part of the Black Dyke Brass Festival.

T-Boned showcases the change of timbre by combinations of dramatically varied dynamics, registers, crescendos and diminuendos and articulations. Pretty much all possible combinations of are showcased in the piece

Winner

The composer is a violinist in the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in Florida and is also the Winner of the 2008 Jacksonville Symphony Fresh Ink — Florida Composers’ Competition.
