The Devil rides again!

4BR talks exclusively to Ray Farr after he announces plans to set Robert the Devil free again — 147 years after it was last played at a major contest...

4BR has spoken exclusively to Ray Farr, after the Conductor in Residence at Durham University announced details of an amazing new 'scholarly edition' of 'Robert the Devil' by Meyerbeer, which will be performed by massed bands at The Sage in June.

147 years later

147 years after Chesterfield Rifles won at the Crystal Palace Contest run by Enderby Jackson, the 'Devil' will ride again.

Ray tells us about the piece, and why resurrecting classic works from banding history is becoming a passion for him.
