The Band of the West Mercia Police, conducted by Steve Pritchard-Jones recently celebrated its 21st birthday in style with a concert at Worcester Cathedral.
Full Cathedral
Performing to a full Cathedral the band was joined by the Worcestershire County Youth Band (Nicola Daws) and a massed choir with pupils from Walkwood Middle School, Dines Green Primary School and Worcester Area Music Centre Choir.

Tribute
The Chief Constable of West Mercia Police, Paul West paid tribute to the band and congratulated them on the excellent amount of money raised for charity over 21 years. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to St Josephs Hospice and Acorns Hospice.
New signings
The band has also announced two new signings. Neil Kerridge has joined the band on soprano from Shirley Band and Geoff Henning on bass trombone formerly of Shirley and Yeovil Town Band.
Internal moves
Paul Hathaway has moved off soprano to the solo cornet bench, Sue Musto has moved off the back row to take the flugel chair and Wes Nicklin has moved to 2nd trombone with George Nash filling the 1st baritone seat
The Band will attend the Whit Friday Marches for the first time in June and later in the month are booked to perform at the new Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury raising funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry.
