Burghclere School Band has won through to the Music for Youth Competition.

Burghclere School Band has once more won through to the National Music for Youth Competition in July.

Significant achievement

This is a significant achievement for a for small rural primary school with just 120 pupils. The Band is headed by brass teacher Bill Ferrier who currently leads 40 members — one third of the school.

Free loan

The Band provides any child from years 3 -6 who wants to participate with the free loan of an instrument, along with an individual music lesson each week plus band practice and extra-curricular activities.
