Woods departs from Carlton Main

Rob Woods departs from Carlton Main, but a new euph section takes shape in time for the Masters.

Carlton Main

The Carlton Main Band has announced the departure of Rob Woods due to work commitments.

Stepping down

Rob was recently made redundant, but fortunately was able to secure new employment. However, his new appointment demands that he is working away for lengthy periods of time and so he felt it was in the interest of the band for him to step down.

Thanks

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Although Rob was only with the band for a short period of time he made many new friends and left his mark in the bandroom, we would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well in the future."

New principal

Meanwhile, Toni Howden has been appointed as the band's new principal euphonium. No stranger to the post, she played as principal at both the Open and National Finals.

New signing

The band now welcomes Matt Ingram who has joined on second euphonium.

Matt is a first year music student at Sheffield University and is originally from the Croydon area, where he was a member of the Croydon Citadel Band. He will make his contesting debut with Carlton Main at the forthcoming All England Masters.
