Comings and goings at Lanner

There has been a quick turn around in MDs at Lanner & District, as Stuart Chappell returns to the fold.

Chapell
 

Lanner & District Silver Band has announced that they have reluctantly accepted the resignation of their MD Colin Toghill.

Colin joined the band just under two years ago and led them to success at the Exmouth Contest and also steered the band to a very creditable 6th place in the First Section at the areas in Torquay this year.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band would like to thank Colin for all he has done for the band and wish him all the luck for the future."

New MD

The band has quickly announced the appointment of Stuart Chappell as their new MD, who returns to the band after a 3 year absence.

During his previous tenure, Stuart successfully steered the band from the lower reaches of the Second Section to Championship status and took the band to the National Finals at Dundee and Harrogate in consecutive years.

Looking forward

The band spokesperson added: "The players and committee, with Stuart at the helm, are looking forward to the challenge of strengthening and improving the band. We welcome Stuart and wish him a long and happy stay with us."

Boarshurst Silver Band

February 17 • Boarshurst Silver Band, NW Championship Section, requires a BBb player, flugel, and front row cornet player. Under MD Jamie Prophet, the band have an ambitious and varied calendar for 2025, including NW Area, Spring Festival and Whit Friday.


Mid Rhondda Band
