Death of Lanner player

The untimely death of Alison Farr has been announced.

 

Lanner & District Silver Band has announced the unexpected death of their solo horn player Alison Farr who passed away on Friday.

Alison rejoined the band about 12 month ago after a break of some 10 years. She originally started playing with Hayle Band before leaving to join Lanner and then went on to do short spells of playing with a number of bands that included Carharrack & St Day, Penzance, Redruth, Newquay, Camborne and Kernow Brass.

She will be remembered in Lanner for her sense of humour and her quick wit whilst in the practice room and will be sorely missed by allLanner & District

At this time thoughts go out to her husband Shaun and her sister Juliet who also play in the band.

Funeral

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday 28th April at St Erth Church commencing at 1pm.

It has been requested that there be family flowers only and no black be worn. Donations are requested and will be shared between The Animal Hospital Treleigh and The Lanner & District Silver Band.
