Martlesham Brass has been awarded £280 by the BT Community Champions award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of Adam Cable, a BT employee.
Charity programme
Run by BT's charity programme, 'BT Community Champions' awards BT people with funding on behalf of local community groups, charities and organisations where they work on a voluntary basis.
Martlesham Brass is one of hundreds that applied for an award and they impressed judges with how they would use their grant.

Percussion purchase
The group plans to use its £280 award to purchase instruments including percussion equipment.
Adam told 4BR: "I have been a member of Martlesham Brass for ten years. We are always in need of instruments for our ever-expanding organisation. We have almost a hundred members now and funding is hard to come by."
Great opportunity
He added: "The BT Community Champions award scheme provides a great opportunity for community groups like ours — every contribution makes a difference.
"The new percussion equipment will increase the variety of music we are able to play at our concerts and performances all over East Suffolk. It is very positive that BT recognises the voluntary work of its people and supports the charity sector in this way."
