Wessex Open Contest

Details of the Wessex Open Contest and Youth Training Contest have been announced.

 

The Wessex Brass Band Association have announced details of their
Open Contest to be held on Saturday 28 November at The Pavilion, The Esplanade, Weymouth, Dorset.

Outline
Each band will enter under its recognised National grading and play an own choice test piece from its National Grading, recognised on an agreed list.

A band may decide to play a test piece of a higher National grading, however they will be judged in the Section that they are Nationally graded, not the Section of the selected test piece.

The bands will pre-draw and play continually one after another.

Youth & Training Band Contest

Details have also been annoucned of their Youth & Training Band Contest to be held on Saturday 31 October at The Trafalgar School at Downton, Breamore Road, Downton, Salisbury.

The contest will be an Own choice programme to include two versus of a hymn tune with a maximum of 20 minutes and not less than 15 minutes programme time (to include setting up time and introductions).

Wotton-under-Edge Silver Band

November 4 • We are a busy and very friendly 2nd section band with 5 current vacancies - FRONT ROW CORNET – BACK ROW CORNET- EUPHONIUM - Bb BASS - PERCUSSION. We rehearse on Tuesdays & Thursdays near our lovely home town, just a short drive from M5, J14.


Harlow Brass Band

November 4 • We have vacancies for CORNETS, TROMBONES, 2ND HORN AND PERCUSSION. We are a welcoming, non contesting band who organising their own Spring and Christmas concerts and enjoy playing at local events throughout the year.


Chinnor Silver

November 4 • Our COMMUNITY BANDS next rehearsal is on Monday 10th at 11am and held in our bandroom.. Blowing with us doesn't impact your own band and its free.. We welcome all regardless of ability . Tea and cakes an added bonus.
