Over the next few weeks Phillip Hunt will be presenting three special Sounds of Brass programmes on BBC Local Radio to mark the Centenary of Gilbert Vinter.

With the help of interviews with Paul Hindmarsh, Tim Mutum, David Read and Gilbert Vinter’s son, Dr Andrew Vinter, Phillip explores the stories behind the music and the motivation behind the man, in this tribute to one of the most important brass band composers of the twentieth century.
