4BR has managed to get the first batch of study scores for the European Brass Band Championship test piece, ‘From Ancient Times’.
Inspired by the music of the Franco-Flemish School of the Renaissance but with a very modern sound idiom, Jan Van der Roost’s test piece has all the ingredients to test the very best European brass bands in Ostend in May.
The bound study score is beautifully laid out over 83 pages with all the individual parts clearly accessible for detailed analysis, with a comprehensive introductory programme note from the composer himself.
