Rankings: March update

The latest World of Brass – 4barsrest Rankings show few changes at the top following the recent round of ‘Area’ contests, with only Rothwell and Tredegar moving significantly in the top 20.

Yorkshire Championships – won by Rothwell
North West Regional Championships – won by Foden’s
Welsh Regional Championships – won by Cory
West of England Regional Championships – won by Camborne Town
Midlands Regional Championships – won by Desford Colliery
Scottish Championships – won by Scottish Co-op
North of England Regional Championships – won by EYMS
London and Southern Counties Regional Championships – won by Redbridge

NEMBBA Derby Contest – won by Silk Brass

The next update will follow the European Championships in Ostend, at which the defending champion, Cory, will look to extend its lead over Grimethorpe, while Tredegar, Whitburn and Eikanger are the other top 20 bands competing that will be hoping to make significant advances up the table.

Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band

February 20 • Reading Band still needs LOWER BRASS for the 4th section contest at Stevenage on Saturday 15th March! Rehearsals in Woodley (RG5) on Thursday evenings.


Boarshurst Silver Band

February 17 • Boarshurst Silver Band, NW Championship Section, requires a BBb player, flugel, and front row cornet player. Under MD Jamie Prophet, the band have an ambitious and varied calendar for 2025, including NW Area, Spring Festival and Whit Friday.


Mid Rhondda Band

February 14 • Mid Rhondda Band are looking for the following players : Front Row Cornet, Solo Trombone, Eb Bass, Kit and Tuned Percussionists. The band will be competing in the 3rd Section at the Welsh Area. Contest & concert engagements in the diary for 2025
