Bolsover entries wanted

The Bolsover Entertainment Contest is looking for entrants — and you can apply on line to make it easier.

The Bolsover Brass Band Entertainment Contest entry forms are now available with contest rules on line through Bolsover District Council’s website.

Popular demand

In response to popular demand Bolsover District Council has decided this year to provide information and guidance on their entertainment contest through their district council website.

The necessary forms can be downloaded for ease of access.

Entries

All entry forms should be returned to Bolsover District Council with the entry fee to secure a place in the appropriate section of the competition.

It is expected that the competition will be as strong as ever this year. The Championship Section “Inter-County Challenge” Invitation Contest has already secured 6 bands.

Changes

Many changes are planned to move with the rapidly growing competition.

New venue

The new venue has much greater bar facilities, a list of percussion will be provided to all bands to cut down the time taken to turn bands around on stage, an additional section has been included to split the 1st to 4th Section down to group 1st and 2nd Section bands together and 3rd and 4th Section bands together.

Further details

The competition will be staged at the Post Mill Centre, Market Street, South Normanton commencing at 10am on Sunday 4th October 2009.

Further details can be obtained through the Bolsover District Council website or from Carole Crompton on 07979 240423.
