Family split for Pritchards

Nothing serious — just one in Swansea and one in Torquay, as father and son take up the baton to get their bands to Harrogate.

There will be a musical split in the Pritchard family over the weekend as Gareth and Gavin Pritchard take up the challenge of getting their respective bands to Harrogate at Swansea and Torquay.

Torquay bound

Father Gareth will head for Torquay in the First Section with the St Austell Band, who he has already enjoyed success with since taking over the baton last year.

...Gavin will take over the conducting duties with Lewis Merthyr in Swansea, as he hopes to direct the former Welsh Regional Champions to success in the Second Section4BR

Meanwhile, son Gavin will take over the conducting duties with Lewis Merthyr in Swansea, as he hopes to direct the former Welsh Regional Champions to success in the Second Section.

Gavin regularly steps in for his father and last year directed the band into the runners up spot at the Ebbw Vale Contest in the First Section.
