Brass Wanganui commenced the New Year with several player changes and now adjusts to prepare for the Nationals, being held in Napier, in less than 2 months time.

Hamish to Hamilton

Unfortunately, the band's top Euphonium player, Hamish Jellyman, has moved to Hamilton and will be missing for most of the regular rehearsals, but has kindly agreed to play with the band in Napier.

Stacey Randles has moved into the chair left empty by Hamish and has been assited by Ian O'Malley who returned to Wanganui from University in Dunedin. Ian is still committed with St Kilda for the Nationals, however.

At 4 months of age, Eva (daughter of Rebecca and David Maas), has some way to go before she will be ready for the contest platform.Brass Wanganui spokesperson, Barry Williams.

Spokesperson for Brass Wanganui, Barry Williams said: "At 4 months of age, Eva (daughter of Rebecca and David Maas), has some way to go before she will be ready for the contest platform."

NZ National Youth Band

Hamish Jellyman and Catherine Carter, Wanganui Brass members of the New Zealand National Youth Band, are actively raising funds for the National Youth Band tour of Japan later in the year.
