In partnership with Forestry Commission England, the Yorkshire and Humberside Brass Band Association are to inaugurate a brass band contest at Kiveton Community Woodland, South Yorkshire.
Entertainment
Taking place on Sunday, 12th July, the Festival is open to all Third, Fourth, ungraded and youth bands who will be invited to perform a 20 minute entertainment programme.

Commenting on the new contest, Peggy Tomlinson, President of Y.H.B.B.A. told 4BR: "It was a pleasant surprise to be contacted by Dougie MacTaggart, Community Ranger with an invite to meet on the site to discuss this project."

Panoramic views
The site is just 5 minutes from Junction 31 on the M1 and features its own amphitheatre — an open space with tiered shelving that can be used for community performances and events whilst the walk to the top of the site gives panoramic views of the Peak district.
The contest is sponsored by Forestry Commission, England, and marquees will be provided.
