Funding success for XLCR

Brisbane Excelsior were recently granted funding for the purchase of new instruments.

Gambling Community Benefit Fund
 

Towards the end of 2008, Brisbane Excelsior Band Incorporated was awarded a $29,000 grant from the Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Percussion equipment

Adrian Dadds, who prepared the submission on the bands behalf told 4BRDU: "This grant is for the purchase of new percussion equipment — specifically a Marimba, Xylophone, Tubular Bell and Gong."

Brisbane Excelsior President, Dean Morley commented: "The band are extremely grateful for this very generous funding. It has come at a crucial time for the band as they are representing Australia at the British Open contest in the UK in September."

He continued: "The quality of the bands instruments affects the level of performance greatly so the ability to field decent instruments without detriment to the bands finances is essential and greatly appreciated."
